Looking for a Turkey eSIM and torn between Airalo, Holafly, Nomad, Saily and POVNOMAD? Two facts decide this comparison: the price of unlimited data and Turkey’s BTK block, which has affected the big international providers since July 2025. On 25 August 2026, 30 days of unlimited data cost €26.90 (Smart, 1 GB high speed/day) or €59.90 (XL, 3 GB/day) at POVNOMAD, €61.50 at Airalo (3 GB/day) and €68.90 at Holafly. This comparison shows all the numbers, the block status and who each provider suits.

All prices collected on 25 Aug 2026 from the providers’ own Turkey pages (EUR). “–” = no matching plan offered on that date. Offers may change. High speed per day: POVNOMAD Smart 1 GB, POVNOMAD XL 3 GB, Airalo 3 GB (per its own fair use policy), each followed by 1 Mbit/s; Holafly states no threshold.
The decisive difference: the Turkey block
The BTK decision of July 2025 named Airalo, Saily, Holafly and Nomad among eight providers; by early 2026, more than 30 services were affected. The block hits these providers’ websites and apps on Turkish networks: anyone trying to buy, activate or top up locally cannot reach their sites. POVNOMAD is not on any of the published block lists (as of 25 Aug 2026). Our article Turkey eSIM Blocked? explains the details – and the most important rule applies to every provider: buy and install your eSIM before entering the country.
Prices in detail
On the reference date, Airalo and Holafly sold unlimited plans only for Turkey. If you need little data, you still pay the unlimited price there: the smallest Airalo plan costs €10.50 for 3 days, the smallest Holafly plan €11.37 for 3 days. At POVNOMAD, the Turkey eSIM starts at €1, and a 1 GB plan for 7 days costs €2.90.
For data plans, Nomad and POVNOMAD sit close together: 20 GB for 30 days costs €17.12 (Nomad) versus €16.90 (POVNOMAD). The biggest gap shows up in unlimited data for a full trip: Nomad caps unlimited at 10 days (€23.97), while Airalo and Holafly charge more than double POVNOMAD’s €26.90 for 30 days. Saily advertises Turkey plans from US$3.99 on its website; the site could not be checked automatically on the reference date, so Saily is not in the table.
Transparency on “unlimited”: at POVNOMAD, Unlimited Smart means unlimited data with 1 GB of high speed per day, after which you keep browsing at 1 Mbit/s without interruption; Unlimited XL raises the threshold to 3 GB per day (from €9.90 for Turkey). Airalo uses the same mechanism and states 3 GB of high speed per day in its own fair use policy, followed by 1 Mbit/s as well (as of 25 Aug 2026). Holafly does not state a daily threshold on its Turkey product page. So compare “unlimited” by the daily threshold and the price, not by the word.
Premium (2-in-1 network)
Alongside the Standard plan (network: Vodafone Türkiye), POVNOMAD also sells the Turkey eSIM Premium (2-in-1 network): it uses both Vodafone Türkiye and Türk Telekom, switching automatically to whichever network is stronger, with 4G/5G where available. Two networks instead of one mean better coverage outside the main cities, for example on the coast or in mountain regions. Premium pricing is separate from Standard and runs higher (as of 30 Aug 2026): 1 GB for 7 days costs €3.90, 3 GB for 15 days €4.90, Unlimited Smart for 30 days €31.90, and Unlimited XL for 30 days €67.90.
What Airalo, Holafly, Nomad and Saily are good at
An honest comparison names the others’ strengths. Airalo is the best-known provider with a huge country selection and a large community. Holafly specialises in unlimited plans for a very wide range of destinations and offers subscription models for frequent travellers. Nomad sells solid data plans at fair prices. Saily belongs to Nord Security, the company behind NordVPN. If you already have credit or a subscription with one of these providers and are NOT travelling to Turkey, there is little reason to switch.
Who POVNOMAD suits
POVNOMAD is a German provider from Saarbrücken: German invoices, support in German and English, a 30-day satisfaction guarantee, and ratings of 4.5/5 on Trustpilot plus 100% recommendation on eBay (as of August 2026). Three things speak for it in Turkey: the unlimited price, the choice from 1 GB to unlimited instead of unlimited-only, and the validity start with the first connection to a Turkish network – you can buy and install the Turkey eSIM weeks before departure without losing a day.
On the go, the POVNOMAD app for iOS and Android covers purchase, one-tap installation, live data usage tracking, managing several eSIMs, and topping up with one tap, even from inside Turkey.
