Smart suits travellers who stay online all day without burning 3 GB: 1 GB at full speed daily, then maps and messengers keep running at 1 Mbit/s.

Airalo’s Tunisia product page states no threshold, its general fair-use page names 3 GB per day followed by 1 Mbps. Holafly’s Tunisia pages give neither a threshold nor a throttled speed. Unlimited Smart undercuts both competitors at every duration listed: €7.90 against €18.50 at 3 days, €58.90 against €88.00 at 30 days. In exchange, Airalo allows three times the daily full-speed data. Each provider defines “unlimited” for itself anyway. Airalo’s general fair-use page reads: “when you use more than 3GB in a day, we’ll slow down (or ‘throttle’) your internet speed to 1 Mbps for the rest of that day.” Holafly’s German Tunisia page says only that throttling “can last a maximum of one day”. POVNOMAD prints both numbers on the product page.
For more headroom, POVNOMAD Unlimited L raises the daily allowance to 2 GB: €12.90 for 3 days, €20.90 for 5 days, €27.90 for 7 days, €38.90 for 10 days. The network difference
Tunisia has three mobile operators: Tunisie Telecom, Ooredoo and Orange. POVNOMAD uses Ooredoo. Airalo’s Tunisia product page also names “Ooredoo”. Holafly names “Orange Tunisia / Ooredoo Tunisia” (both retrieved 4 September 2026).
One point deserves a plain answer: Tunisia has 5G. Ooredoo switched it on 13 February 2025, Orange and Tunisie Telecom on 14 February 2025 (source: developingtelecoms.com). The POVNOMAD eSIM for Tunisia runs on Ooredoo’s 4G network. Holafly advertises “5G where available”, and Airalo states nothing about the standard. For navigation, messengers and video calls, 4G handles the job; peak speed you will not get from us.

The gap widens at the top end: 20 GB for 30 days costs €23.90, Unlimited Smart for the same 30 days €58.90. Skip the streaming and 20 GB carries you through a month for €35 less.
Which plan for which trip
Navigation, WhatsApp with voice notes and photos, bookings on the move, some social media: on an ordinary travel day that mix stays under 1 GB. You spend the whole day at full speed. On the days it does go over, Unlimited Smart drops to 1 Mbit/s and maps, messengers and mail keep working. Stream two hours of HD in the evening or run video calls for hours and you will pass 1 GB, which is where Unlimited L or Airalo’s 3 GB a day serves you better.
A week in a resort on Djerba or in Hammamet: Unlimited Smart for 7 days costs €14.90. If you mostly use hotel Wi-Fi and need mobile data for the beach and day trips, 5 GB for 30 days at €7.90 covers it. For a week of streaming and uploading reels, take Unlimited L for 7 days at €27.90.
A round trip through Tunis, Kairouan, El Jem and Tozeur, ten to fifteen days: navigation runs all day here, plus bookings and photos. Unlimited Smart costs €20.90 for 10 days and €30.90 for 15 days. If you also stream in the evening, Unlimited L for 10 days at €38.90 doubles the daily allowance.
