Saudi Arabia eSIM Provider Comparison 2026: POVNOMAD vs Airalo vs Holafly

One week of unlimited data in Saudi Arabia costs 17.90 € at POVNOMAD, 24.50 € at Airalo and 25.90 € at Holafly as of 21 September 2026. For 30 days the three offers stand at 70.90 €, 87.00 € and 98.90 € — a gap of 28.00 €, or roughly 28 percent, between the cheapest and the most expensive plan.

On that date we pulled the country product pages of all three providers and recorded every duration separately. The full result is documented below — including the durations where Airalo and Holafly carry no package at all, and the cases where our own plan is the most expensive of the three.

Saudi Arabia price comparison: unlimited plans by duration

Broken down per day, the 30-day plan costs 2.36 € with us, 2.90 € with Airalo and 3.30 € with Holafly. At three days the gap is smallest: 8.90 € against 11.50 € and 11.90 €, a difference of 3.00 € between the cheapest and the most expensive offer.

What “unlimited” actually means technically

No provider in this comparison delivers unlimited full speed. Unlimited means the same thing everywhere: the connection does not drop, but the speed can fall.

Our Unlimited Smart plan includes 1 GB per day on the 5G or 4G network. Once that daily allowance is used up, you continue at up to 1 Mbit/s, and the high-speed allowance resets automatically after 24 hours. Unlimited L works identically but includes 2 GB of high-speed data per day. These thresholds are printed on our product page because you should know them before you buy.

Holafly’s German country page refers to a “Fair Usage Policy” and states that throttling can last a maximum of one day, after which full speed returns. No gigabyte threshold at which throttling begins was stated on the cut-off date. On Airalo’s country page no specific throttling threshold was retrievable either. So if you want to know exactly at what point your speed drops, we are the only one of the three publishing that number on this date.

What Airalo and Holafly do well

Airalo is cheaper than Holafly at every shared duration on the cut-off date, and it has by far the widest country coverage on the market — if you combine several states in one trip, one account and one app usually cover it. Holafly, in turn, sets no hard daily cap and adds 1 GB of backup data to every plan; if you would rather not watch your data counter at all, that is what you are deliberately paying for.

Our own offer has two weak spots you can read straight off the table. First: Unlimited L is the most expensive plan in the comparison at every single duration — 32.90 € for seven days against 24.50 € at Airalo and 25.90 € at Holafly. If you need 2 GB of high-speed data per day, you pay 7.00 to 8.40 € more with us on the cut-off date.

Second, a concrete scenario: you are in your hotel in Riyadh in the evening, streaming two episodes of a series in HD. That exhausts the 1 GB daily allowance of Unlimited Smart after a good hour. The remaining 1 Mbit/s still carries messengers, maps, mail and music, but not HD video. If you plan to do that every evening, Unlimited L or Holafly serves you better than our cheapest plan — even though it wins on paper.

One oddity from our own price list belongs here too: among the fixed-data plans, 3 GB with 15 days validity costs 7.90 €, while the same 3 GB with 30 days validity costs 8.00 €. Ten cents buys you double the validity — the 15-day version is almost never worth it.

Networks and coverage on the ground

Our Saudi Arabia eSIM connects to the STC and Zain networks, both with 5G, though the specific network assignment varies. Airalo names Zain as the network partner for its Saudi Arabia product. Both are nationwide operators, not limited to particular regions.

How well a network actually measures at your destination is still worth checking independently. The nPerf coverage map shows real user measurements by operator and technology and zooms down to individual cities — useful if you are travelling beyond Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.

Fixed-data plans as an alternative

Not every trip needs unlimited. If you mainly use your phone for maps, messengers and the occasional email, a fixed package is considerably cheaper: 5 GB with 30 days validity costs 11.90 € with us, 10 GB is 18.90 € and 20 GB is 28.90 €. At 70.90 €, the 30-day unlimited plan costs 2.5 times the 20 GB package. The rule of thumb: below roughly 700 MB per day, a fixed-data plan is the better buy on the maths.
