Fifteen days in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan (7 + 5 + 3 days) cost €26.70 at POVNOMAD with three country eSIMs: Georgia with unlimited data for 7 days (€10.90), Armenia with 3 GB (€5.90) and Azerbaijan with unlimited data for 3 days (€9.90). The only single eSIM in this comparison that covers all three countries is Airalo Discover: €87.00 for 15 days of unlimited data or €22.00 for 3 GB over 30 days. Holafly sells country eSIMs only. Prices as of 30 September 2026.
We have no eSIM for all three countries. Our Global eSIM includes Armenia and Azerbaijan but not Georgia, and we sell no unlimited plan for Armenia. Plan the route before you buy: the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan is closed, and German citizens can currently enter Azerbaijan only by air.
Which eSIMs cover Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan?
A country eSIM works in one country only. For all three you need three eSIMs or a plan that includes all of them. As of 30 September 2026:
| Plan | Georgia | Armenia | Azerbaijan | Data |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| POVNOMAD, three country eSIMs | yes | yes | yes | Georgia and Azerbaijan unlimited or fixed data, Armenia fixed data only |
| POVNOMAD Global eSIM | no | yes | yes | fixed data only, 1 to 20 GB |
| POVNOMAD Europe eSIM (34 or 41 countries) | no | no | no | – |
| Airalo Discover (global) | yes | yes | yes | unlimited or fixed data |
| Airalo Eurolink (41 countries) | yes | no | no | unlimited or fixed data |
| Airalo country eSIMs | yes | yes | yes | Georgia fixed data only, Armenia and Azerbaijan also unlimited |
| Holafly country eSIMs | yes | yes | yes | unlimited only |
Country lists read on 30.09.2026 on povnomad.com, airalo.com and esim.holafly.com/de. Our two Europe eSIMs and Airalo Eurolink include Turkey. Holafly’s Europe eSIM (33 countries) includes none of the three.
According to the product pages, our Georgia eSIM uses Magti (4G), the Armenia eSIM Vivacell (4G) and the Azerbaijan eSIM Azercell (4G) or Bakcell (5G). The pages name these networks as examples, and all three eSIMs allow hotspot use. On Android you may have to enter the APN for the Georgia eSIM by hand: it is “isp”, and the exact settings are in your eSIM link.
What does mobile data cost for a Caucasus trip?
Three common splits, prices from 30 September 2026:
| Plan | Georgia + Armenia, 10 days (5 + 5) | Georgia + Azerbaijan, 10 days (7 + 3) | All three, 15 days (7 + 5 + 3) |
|---|---|---|---|
| POVNOMAD, country eSIMs: unlimited in Georgia and Azerbaijan, 3 GB in Armenia | €14.80 5 days + 3 GB | €20.80 7 days + 3 days | €26.70 7 days + 3 GB + 3 days |
| POVNOMAD, country eSIMs: 3 GB each | €12.80 | €16.80 | €22.70 |
| Airalo, country eSIMs: 3 GB each | €24.00 | €22.00 | €36.00 |
| Airalo, country eSIMs: unlimited in Armenia and Azerbaijan, 5 GB in Georgia | €42.00 | €32.00 | €60.00 |
| Airalo Discover unlimited, one eSIM | €58.00 10 days | €58.00 10 days | €87.00 15 days |
| Holafly, country eSIMs, unlimited | €47.40 5 + 5 days | €44.40 7 + 3 days | €73.30 7 + 5 + 3 days |
All prices collected in euros on the providers’ websites on 30.09.2026. Offers may change. The plans are not like for like. Unlimited at POVNOMAD means Unlimited Smart: 1 GB of high-speed data per 24 hours, then up to 1 Mbit/s. Airalo slows its Armenia, Azerbaijan and Discover unlimited plans to 1 Mbit/s after 3 GB a day. Airalo has no unlimited country plan for Georgia; its Eurolink regional plan covers Georgia with unlimited data (€24.50 for 7 days), but not Armenia or Azerbaijan. Airalo’s shortest 3 GB plans that cover the stay run 7 days for Georgia and Armenia and 3 days for Azerbaijan. Holafly names no threshold and says any throttling lasts one day at most; Holafly limits hotspot sharing to 1 GB a day. Holafly also sells durations other than the listed ones; we used the listed ones.
With three country eSIMs you pay the least with us on each route. Airalo Discover is the only plan in the table that covers all three countries with one install. For 15 days it costs €60.30 more than our unlimited combination, but it gives you 3 GB of high-speed data a day instead of our 1 GB. If you stream video every day in Armenia, Airalo and Holafly sell unlimited plans there and we don’t.
Fewer installs cost a little more. Our Global eSIM covers Armenia and Azerbaijan with one profile, 3 GB for 30 days at €17.90. Add the Georgia eSIM for 7 days and you pay €28.80 for all three countries with two installs: €2.10 more than three country eSIMs, and without unlimited data in Azerbaijan. With one install and 3 GB for the whole trip, Airalo Discover costs €22.00.
If 3 GB is too little for Armenia, take 10 GB for €14.90 or 20 GB for €25.90, each valid for 30 days. Our unlimited eSIM page explains our unlimited tiers, and our Travel eSIM Price Study 2026 compares the fair use rules of the big providers.
How do you get from Tbilisi to Yerevan and to Baku?
The border between Armenia and Azerbaijan is closed, and no border crossing is possible (as of 30 September 2026). Any trip through all three countries runs via Georgia or by air.
Tbilisi to Yerevan: you cross overland. Foreigners can use the crossings at Bagratashen/Sadakhlo, Gogavan/Guguti and Bavra, and trains cross at Ayrum/Sadakhlo. German citizens need no visa for Georgia or Armenia; check the rules for your own passport. From Bagratashen one road runs via Alaverdi and Vanadzor (M6), another via Noyemberyan and Ijevan (M16).
Tbilisi to Baku: Azerbaijan keeps its land borders closed to regular passenger traffic. A passenger train has run between Baku and Tbilisi again since 26 May 2026, but according to the Azerbaijani authorities only citizens of countries that need no visa for Azerbaijan may use it. Germans need a visa, so they can only enter by air. Leaving by land needs a permit, and the direct train is not an option for that. In practice you fly into and out of Azerbaijan and travel between Georgia and Armenia by road or rail.
Passport stamps matter on this route. An Azerbaijani stamp leads to a short interview at Armenian entry, and Armenian visas in your passport can mean long waits, questioning or refused entry in Azerbaijan.
How do you switch eSIMs at the border?
According to our product pages, validity starts on first contact with the partner network in the destination country, not at purchase, and you have 120 days after purchase to activate. You can install all three eSIMs at home on Wi-Fi.
- At home: install the eSIMs (instructions for iPhone and Android) and switch each line off until you reach its country.
- On arrival: turn on the eSIM for the country you are in, set it as your mobile data line and enable data roaming for this eSIM. Turn data roaming off on your home SIM.
- At the border or after the flight: switch the old eSIM off, turn the next one on and select it as your data line.
Your home number stays reachable for calls and texts, for example for your bank’s verification codes. None of the three countries belongs to the EU roaming area, so your provider bills those at its own rates; our eSIMs carry data only. Home carrier prices for Georgia are in our Georgia eSIM comparison, and the Armenia and Azerbaijan comparisons cover each country in detail.
Will you have signal in Kazbegi, Svaneti and Tusheti?
Two travel guides from July 2026, wander-lush.org and georgia-spirit.com, rate Magti as the network with the widest mountain coverage. Our Georgia eSIM runs on Magti according to its product page. What Magti charges tourists for a local SIM at Tbilisi airport is in Georgia SIM card for tourists. Airalo’s Georgia eSIM uses Cellfie, and Holafly names Magticom and Beeline Georgia, the former name of Cellfie.
- Kazbegi: georgia-spirit.com reports strong signal in Gudauri and Stepantsminda and a few dead zones in the Aragvi valley along the Georgian Military Road.
- Svaneti: the same guide finds usable Magti data in Mestia and on most of the Mestia–Ushguli trail. wander-lush.org describes Cellfie and Silknet as patchy in Upper Svaneti.
- Tusheti: georgia-spirit.com calls coverage extremely limited, with Magti struggling in the deepest valleys.
No provider guarantees signal at a specific spot. Download maps, tickets and contacts before you drive the Abano Pass or start a multi-day hike.
