POVNOMAD, Airalo and Holafly all sell an unlimited-data eSIM for Tunisia. POVNOMAD Unlimited Smart starts at €7.90 for 3 days, Airalo at €18.50, Holafly at €18.90. Smart suits travellers who stay online all day without burning 3 GB: 1 GB at full speed daily, then maps and messengers keep running at 1 Mbit/s.
The comparison at a glance
| Duration | POVNOMAD Unlimited Smart | Airalo Unlimited | Holafly |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 days | €7.90 | €18.50 | €18.90 |
| 5 days | €10.90 | €25.50 | €29.90 |
| 7 days | €14.90 | €32.00 | €37.90 |
| 10 days | €20.90 | €41.00 | €44.90 |
| 15 days | €30.90 | €53.50 | €60.50 |
| 21 days | €41.90 | — | — |
| 30 days | €58.90 | €89.50 | €105.50 |
Prices collected on 4 September 2026 from povnomad.com, airalo.com (Tunisia product page, EUR) and esim.holafly.com/de, re-checked on 30 September 2026: POVNOMAD and Holafly unchanged, Airalo higher from 5 days. The Airalo column shows the prices of 30 September 2026; on 4 September 2026 it read €18.50, €25.00, €31.00, €40.00, €52.50 and €88.00. “—” means Airalo and Holafly showed no 21-day list price for Tunisia on the reference date; their tables jump from 15 to 30 days. Fair use: for Unlimited Smart, POVNOMAD states both figures, 1 GB of full-speed data per day and a steady 1 Mbit/s afterwards, reset every 24 hours. When checked on 30 September 2026, Airalo’s package description for Tunisia names 3 GB per day followed by 1 Mbps; on 4 September 2026 this was only on Airalo’s general fair-use page. Holafly’s Tunisia pages give neither a threshold nor a throttled speed. A higher daily threshold only pays off if you reach it: stay under 3 GB a day and you are paying there for data you leave on the table. Prices are subject to change.
For context: in the POVNOMAD price study 2026 across 95 countries, the median for one week of unlimited data was €9.90 (as of 5 September 2026).
Unlimited Smart undercuts both competitors at every duration listed: €7.90 against €18.50 at 3 days, €58.90 against €89.50 at 30 days (Airalo prices as of 30 September 2026). In exchange, Airalo allows three times the daily full-speed data. Each provider defines “unlimited” for itself anyway. Airalo’s general fair-use page reads: “when you use more than 3GB in a day, we’ll slow down (or ‘throttle’) your internet speed to 1 Mbps for the rest of that day.” Holafly’s German Tunisia page says only that throttling “can last a maximum of one day”. POVNOMAD prints both numbers on the product page.
For more headroom, POVNOMAD Unlimited L raises the daily allowance to 2 GB: €12.90 for 3 days, €20.90 for 5 days, €27.90 for 7 days, €38.90 for 10 days. From 15 days on we advise against it: €55.90 against Airalo’s €53.50, while Unlimited Smart covers the same period for €30.90. The overview of the unlimited eSIMs explains all tiers.
One note on buying: purchases in the POVNOMAD app earn up to 10 percent of the amount paid as credits, redeemable on your next order. The web shop does not award credits. The prices in the table stay the same, the credits lower the bill on your next trip.
The network difference
Tunisia has three mobile operators: Tunisie Telecom, Ooredoo and Orange. POVNOMAD uses Ooredoo. Airalo’s Tunisia product page also names “Ooredoo”. Holafly names “Orange Tunisia / Ooredoo Tunisia” (both retrieved 4 September 2026, unchanged on 30 September 2026).
One point deserves a plain answer: Tunisia has 5G. Ooredoo switched it on 13 February 2025, Orange and Tunisie Telecom on 14 February 2025 (source: developingtelecoms.com). The POVNOMAD eSIM for Tunisia runs on Ooredoo’s 4G network. Holafly advertises “5G where available”, and Airalo lists “Ooredoo 4G” in its package details (retrieved 30 September 2026). For navigation, messengers and video calls, 4G handles the job; peak speed you will not get from us. Actual network coverage on the ground can be checked independently on the nPerf coverage map.
Hotspot rules separate the three offers. POVNOMAD sets no separate data cap for sharing. Holafly caps the hotspot at 1 GB per day. Airalo says nothing about hotspot use on its Tunisia page.
Data packages instead of unlimited
A beach holiday with maps, WhatsApp and a few photos does not need unlimited data. The fixed data packages sit below the unlimited prices.
| Data volume | Duration | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 1 GB | 7 days | €2.90 |
| 3 GB | 30 days | €6.00 |
| 5 GB | 30 days | €7.90 |
| 10 GB | 30 days | €14.90 |
| 20 GB | 30 days | €23.90 |
Prices as of 4 September 2026, povnomad.com/en/produkt/tunisia-esim/. Hotspot is included with every POVNOMAD eSIM for Tunisia and shareable without a separate limit.
The gap widens at the top end: 20 GB for 30 days costs €23.90, Unlimited Smart for the same 30 days €58.90. Skip the streaming and 20 GB carries you through a month for €35 less.
Which plan for which trip
Navigation, WhatsApp with voice notes and photos, bookings on the move, some social media: on an ordinary travel day that mix stays under 1 GB. You spend the whole day at full speed. On the days it does go over, Unlimited Smart drops to 1 Mbit/s and maps, messengers and mail keep working. Stream two hours of HD in the evening or run video calls for hours and you will pass 1 GB, which is where Unlimited L or Airalo’s 3 GB a day serves you better.
A week in a resort on Djerba or in Hammamet: Unlimited Smart for 7 days costs €14.90. If you mostly use hotel Wi-Fi and need mobile data for the beach and day trips, 5 GB for 30 days at €7.90 covers it. For a week of streaming and uploading reels, take Unlimited L for 7 days at €27.90.
Signal in Djerba, Hammamet, Monastir, Sousse and Tozeur, and which network sits behind each eSIM, is covered in eSIM and signal in Tunisia by region (as of 30 September 2026).
A round trip through Tunis, Kairouan, El Jem and Tozeur, ten to fifteen days: navigation runs all day here, plus bookings and photos. Unlimited Smart costs €20.90 for 10 days and €30.90 for 15 days. If you also stream in the evening, Unlimited L for 10 days at €38.90 doubles the daily allowance.
A long stay or a winter abroad, one month and up: over that stretch the data package usually wins. 20 GB for 30 days costs €23.90, Unlimited Smart for 30 days €58.90. With Wi-Fi where you are staying, 20 GB comes cheaper; without fixed Wi-Fi and with daily video calls home, Unlimited Smart fits. Every package is listed on the Tunisia eSIM product page.
Roaming from your home contract
Tunisia sits outside EU roaming. European carriers place the country in their most expensive zone, where the standard per-megabyte rate costs more than an entire eSIM plan. Several carriers block data roaming outside the EU by default until you book a travel pass. Check what your own contract charges for Tunisia before you fly. What a Tunisian tourist SIM costs, and when it beats an eSIM on price, is in Tunisia SIM card for tourists.

Airalo names 3 GB per day followed by 1 Mbps, and when checked on 30 September 2026 also directly in its package description for Tunisia. For Tunisia, Holafly names only throttling of at most one day (as of 4 September 2026).
Which network does the Tunisia eSIM use?
The POVNOMAD eSIM for Tunisia runs on Ooredoo’s 4G network. Airalo names Ooredoo for Tunisia as well, while Holafly names “Orange Tunisia / Ooredoo Tunisia” and advertises 5G where available. All three Tunisian operators have run 5G since February 2025, but the POVNOMAD eSIM uses 4G. That covers navigation, messengers and video calls.
Which plan fits a 7-day trip to Tunisia?

Can I buy a Tunisia eSIM from the UK?
Yes. POVNOMAD delivers the eSIM digitally, so where you buy it makes no difference. You order before you travel, receive a QR code, install it and switch it on when you land. Prices are charged in euros, so your bank may apply its own conversion rate.
Does the Tunisia eSIM work on an iPhone?
Yes, on any carrier-unlocked iPhone that supports eSIM. Apple has built eSIM support into every iPhone since the iPhone XS. You install the profile from the QR code in your confirmation mail, then pick the POVNOMAD line for mobile data in your settings once you arrive.
